Version 3.1.2 is now live in the App Store. This release takes care of Jetpack/Stats log in issues, makes the Jetpack set up easier, and fixes bugs and crashes.

If you’re still having trouble with Jetpack and the Stats screen, please let us know asap so we can help you work any last kinks out. The forums are a good place to start: ios.forums.wordpress.org

Saw lots of reports that stats still wasn’t fixed. :( I started poking around and found an issue with percent encoding of special characters in the username and password for the stats auth. As of right now, the auth will fail if there is a special character in either the username/email and password that isn’t escaped properly.

Turns out that ‘stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding’ doesn’t actually do what it claims! It skips a lot of characters that need to be escaped. I found a solution though, and @daniloercoli created a 3.1.X branch and I added the fix there: http://ios.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3405

I think this will fix the issue for most users, and warrants a 3.1.3 release ASAP.

WordPress for iOS 2.9.2 is out! It’s a bug fix update that improves stability and adds a notification about new updates being available.

With old version 2.9.1 was very comfortable TO COPY and PASTE from the application Notebook of iPhone to application OS. Now CAB DO IT. From version 2.9.2 a COMMENTARY CANNOT BE PASTE and is necessary to write it again. This is a GREAT FAILURE

Sorry about that, this has been fixed in 2.9.3. Please update the app to regain copy/pasting functionality.

Version 2.8.3 of WordPress for iOS is out! Please give it some RT love.

Also, be sure to tell us your thoughts on the release and if you notice any lingering issues still. How’s 2.8.3 treating you?

2.6.5 is live in the app store, some are reporting issues on Twitter but it seems like a well-received update so far. There are a few RT’s on the Twitter post, which is always nice.

If you’re a developer, a beta team member or just interested in the app, feel free to share your experiences here so we can all make it even better in the next version. Push Notifications in 2.7? *hint* *hint*

We’re very close to closing the final ticket for version 2.0.1 2.1 http://iphone.trac.wordpress.org/milestone/2.1

We should be on track to submit 2.1 to the App Store sometime tomorrow.

I think we’re there… Found a similar issue with Pages (have to delete twice on WPCOM) MT and Joseph are aware… Once that’s done, we can probably release.

I’ve tagged 1.3.1, a minor maintenance update to the 1.3 branch. This update will not be necessary for anyone who has upgraded to 2.0. The primary function of this release will be an in-app notification directing the user to download 2.0 from the App Store. We’ll have our contractor build this and submit to Apple later this week.

The build was successfully submitted, after one last version number headache with the 1.x branch. :)

Just received an email from Apple that WordPress 2 is now “ready for sale.” The link they provided isn’t working yet, but I imagine it should be any minute now. Here’s the list of changes in version 2.0 that I’ve compiled; I’ll post these to the announcement blog as soon as I can verify that the app has made it to the store.

    • A new, more efficient user interface that makes it faster to switch between comments, posts, and pages.
    • Various user interface refinements and bug fixes
    • New Comments interface, with Gravatars and the author URL shown in the comment list
    • Passwords are now stored in the keychain
    • Posts are now automatically saved and restored if network connection is lost during publishing
    • Added persistence, so the app re-opens in the blog you last used
    • Added an interface for manually entering the XMLRPC endpoint for non-standard setups
    • Fixed rotation-related visual glitches
    • Fixed errors where malformed XML prevented access to XMLRPC endpoint
    • Fixed edge case where local drafts were sometimes not saved
    • Fixed the order of photos so that they’re displayed in the order they’re uploaded
